Very Fine Turkmen "Torba" (Ak-Su Pattern), Turkmenistan, first half 19th century, wool/part-cotton/wool, approx. 70 x 33 cm, condition: 2-3 (good condition), remarkable very fine knotting (asymmetric knots open to the right), high-quality expressive natural dyes, high-quality wool, because of the pattern and extremely fine quality this Torba is probably made by the eagle-group tribe, absolutely rare, masterpiece, (Literature comp.: D.R.Dodds & M.L.Eiland Jr., Oriental Rugs From Atlantic Collections, p.185, No.213/214).
