Baku-Schirwan antik, Kaukasus, um 1900, Wolle auf Wolle, ca.246 x 136 cm. Das schwarzblaue Mittelfeld wird von 3 einhalb quadratischen Medallions mit jeweils 2 Dreiecksspitzen oben und unten beherrscht. DieInnenzeichnung enthält 2 Varianten eines doppel-T-Motives das bei den Turkmenen als Sainak bekannt ist. Beide Motive besitzen Amulettcharakter deren Bedeutung mit der Sicherung der Nahrung zusammenhängt. Innere weissgrundige Krabbenbordure. Alles eingeramt von einer wunderschönen Blütenbordure. Baku-Shirvan antique, Caucasus, around 1900, wool on wool, approx. 246 x 136 cm. The black-blue center field is dominated by 3 and a half square medallions, each with 2 triangular points at the top and bottom. The interior drawing contains 2 variants of a double-T motif known to the Turkmen as Sainak. Both motifs have the character of an amulet, the meaning of which is related to securing food. Inner white-ground crab border. All framed by a beautiful floral border.
